How to Select Your Door Size
If you need help, contact us anytime, but the guide below can help you find your door size:
Step 1:
Measure the Doorway
Measuring can be complicated. If you already know the door size you need, skip to the fun part and look in our design page, but if you need help, measure the following:
Height
Width
Trim
Space to Open
Distance between ceiling and cop of trim or opening (overhead space)
If you need additional help, feel free to contact us with a picture of the opening.

Choose Your Door Size
Single Door without Trim
Width should be the 2-4 inches more than the opening (4+ for bathrooms, bedrooms, and other privacy areas)
Height should be 1 inch more than the measurement from floor to the top of the opening
Single Door with Trim
Width should be 1 inch more than the width of the outer edges of the trim
Height should be the height from floor to top of trim, if using header board. Door should be 6 inches taller than the trim if using no header board.
Double Door without Trim
Combined width of both doors should be the 2-4 inches more than the opening (4+ for bathrooms, bedrooms, and other privacy areas)
Height should be 1 inch more than the measurement from floor to the top of the opening
Double Door with Trim
Combined width of both doors should be 1-2 inch more than the width of the outer edges of the trim (consider move if using header)
Height should be the height from floor to top of trim, if using header board. Door should be 6 inches taller than the trim if using no header board.
Bypass Doors without Trim
Total width should be the same as double doors wihout trim, but add 1-2 inches per door for bypass overlap
Height should be 1 inch more than the measurement from floor to the top of the opening
Bypass doors with Trim
Total width should be the same as double doors with trim, but add 1-2 inches per door for bypass overlap (consider more if using header)
Height should be the height from floor to top of trim, if using header board. Door should be 6 inches taller than the trim if using no header board.
Other considerations:
There are some suggestions above for extra width. Keep in mind that standard doors hang 5/8 of an inch off the wall, so the suggestion for extra width helps with privacy on bathrooms, bedrooms, and other areas where privacy is important.
